Rochester Square

Clay

We value clay as the core material we walk on and eat from daily. It is a versatile, inclusive and non-hierarchal material to work with. We use it every day for one of our most basic activities: in the form of tableware for eating, children's education to art making, architecture experimentation, and crafts therapy; ceramic can be both a very humble and highly sophisticated material.

After digging from the ground at Rochester Square, we collected some of London's clay and used it for various projects. We have set up a space to learn, practice, experiment with clay, and share experiences between artists and potters.
