Shop Courses

We offer different courses and private classes with our teachers: Nina Wright, Aude Van Ryn and Milan Tarascas.

 The space is fully equipped with wheels, large tables, shelving, electric kilns, glazing rooms and electric heaters. And we also offer electric kiln hiring service. Dress warmly and be prepared to get dirty.

WEAVING CLAY workshop with PENNY CLAYDEN

6-hour workshop, last Saturday of the month from 10am to 4pm

This workshop focuses on a different approach on weaving. You will learn how to stitch and weave on paper and fabric and then use your ideas with clay. You will make your own weaved ceramic bowl. This session is held in a unique setting and we welcome adults at all levels. Your tutor, Penny Clayden (Textiles MA), has been drawing with stitching for more then 30 years.

Materials are included.

Minimum 2 people. If we cannot reach this we will have to cancel, notify and refund you. Unfortunately, we cannot refund unattended classes.

Morning

Introduction to hand stitching with needles, threads and cloth.

Introduction to weaving with paper, threads and yarn.

12.30 -1.15pm Break for lunch time. Lunch is not provided but refreshments are.

Afternoon

Experimenting with clay using hand stitching methods learnt in the morning.

Extruding clay to build a waved bowl on a plaster mould using your favourite hand stitching methods. The bowl will be fired by Rochester Square and will be ready for collection approximately 3 weeks after the session.
