4-week course. Tuesdays 7pm till 9.30pm

This course is divided in 4 weeks chunks but many students carry on coming and learn more skills, turning it into an ongoing handbuilding and sculpture course throughout the year.

All levels. Materials included.
The 4 week sessions are focussed on learning various handbuilding techniques. Thinking about form and composition in order to create a sculptural piece. You will also learn about surface decoration as well as glazing your piece. Feel free to bring your sketches, photographs or any research materials you wish to use as a starting point.

If you would like to carry on the course I will guide you individually to more advanced techniques, on hanbuilding decorating and glazing. Ceramics is a vast field with with many avenues to experiment with.

Clay will be provided for free as well as a selection of underglazes and glazes but should you wish to experiment more with colours you may have to purchase specific materials like slips and stains.

Aude Van Ryn studied illustration at St Martins then went on to the Royal College of Art. She graduated from a Ceramic Diploma Course at Citylit in 2017. She has had various shows in the UK. Her work is sold at The New Craftsmen in London.

Minimum 3 people. If we cannot reach this number the class may need to be cancelled, you will be notified and refunded. Unfortunately we cannot refund unattended classes.
