Jamie is an artist based in London. He works with sculpture, print and video. Through his work he explores how the virtual world impacts on an understanding of physical forms in the real world and the ways in which objects augment our lives. He is interested in things like scale, naming and the animation of objects. Seeing the sausage shaped clay soil samples, dug out the ground in Rochester Square, prompted the initial idea for Jamie’s response to a playful ornamental garden jamiegeorge.net

Nissa Nishikawa 'Adopting the idea of art-as-process, Nissa turns with performance, photography, film and now, ceramics. Systematically and intuitively she explores how experiences with primordial practices and found materials along travels in North America, Japan, Africa and India can be structured in time and space. Her work at Rochester Square Gardens continues a dialogue with natural elements: this being with the method of saggar firing.    www.nissa-nishikawa.com

Laura White For the next few months London based artist Laura White is working at RS to realise a commission for an exhibition at Museum of Royal Worcester (MoRW), organized by Meadow Arts. Laura is developing and producing a collection of porcelain objects that occupy and explore their own materiality – exposing the elemental material behaviour of this extraordinary 'white matter', such as through the artists hands-on manipulation, and the processes and techniques used in the production of porcelain objects, such as casting, glazing and firing. Working with the materials capabilities and limitations, such as the collapses, breaks and cracks to expose both the vulnerability of the material while offering up new possibilities. The installation which will be sited at MoRW from September 2018 - March 2019 explores our relationships to the production of porcelain today, such as how the digital environment has affected our relationship to porcelain, from the handmade museum collectables, to the mass-produced digitally designed slip cast crockery we use every day in our homes. meadowarts.org museumofroyalworcester.org laura-white.co.uk tenderfoot.co.uk
