RAKU WORKSHOP TEA SET with Helene Champrond


2-days workshop

Saturday 10th and 24th of November from 10am to 4pm (1-1.30pm break)

Raku is an amazing technique from Japan, traditionally used for the tea ceremony, the philosophy behind it, is that beauty is in imperfection. With this workshop you will be able to make your own tea set.

Day one: making tableware with clay

You will learn how to make a cup of tea with the “pinching technique”, a tea box with slab technique and a tray and/or a tea pot with plaster mold.

Day two: glazing ceramic piece for Raku firing.

You will learn about the raku technique by firing all the pieces.

Your teacher will be the ceramic artist Helene Champrond. She has been practicing Raku for more than 10 years, and recently moved from Dorset to London.

Materials are included. Bring your lunch.

Maximum 8 people. Minimum of 4 people. If we cannot reach this we will have to cancel, notify and refund you. Unfortunately we cannot refund unattended classes.
